Call to protect clients from Cross Rail
Call to protect clients from Cross Rail
- 1992
- Chartered Surveyor Weekly 39(11) 11 June 1992, 18(1) .
In response to the CrossRail Bill, JLW is making representations that Underground legislation should follow statutory compensation codes much more closely. Those affected may not claim compensation until possession of the land is taken, the effect on blighted property and the effect of the disruption on rent reviews are among key issues discussed. The Transport and Works Act 1992 which received Royal Assent after the CrossRail Bill had been deposited means that future schemes will no longer be subject to the Private Bill procedure, thus eliminating the opportunity for parliamentary debate.
