Considers the effect that the new rating valuation lists will have on the compensation to which a business tenant is entitled to under Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 s57 when he fails to obtain a new tenancy . The new and higher rating valuation s will dramatically increase unless the multipliers are reduced. Landlords should consider carefully whether to serve a s25 notice before or after 1 April 1990.
