A review of research undertaken by Cambridge Architectural Research to discover the relationship between occupiers requirements and the design of B1 buildings. Results indicate that design is dictated by fashion rather than by knowledge of users. The research will enable a profile of user needs to be constructed. Tartans ` Vision Park scheme, Cambridge and Abbey Life`s light industrial scheme in Colchester are used as examples in covering the various aspects to consider in designing business space .
