The House of Lords has overturned existing practice relating to the succession to secure tenancies in the case "Waltham Forest LBC v Thomas", where it was judged that a member of the deceased`s family who had dwelt with the tenant for more than one year was entitled to succeed whether or not that year had been spent entirely at the final address.
