It is expected that most countries will experience a slowdown in construction work, due to a contraction in the residential market. Towards the end of the decade the numbers of large civil engineering projects such as the Channel Tunnel are expected to boost the market again. 13 countries in europe are included and a brief outlook for the 1990s is given.
