This short article examines the effect that rating revaluation and the introduction of a Uniform Business Rate will have on commercial and industrial property. Reports on the findings of research undertaken by two firms of chartered surveyors and suggests that a phasing scheme should be devised to reduce the impact of the change in rate bills after revaluation takes place.
