Report on the NFU working panel recommendations on the land use implications of present Government policies . It concludes that the current range of alternative uses of farmland is is not going to eat up the surplus. There should be incentives to provide positive environmental benefits to the countryside. The panel also recommend that existing incentive schemes to enable landowners to diversify and the farm woodland scheme should be strengthened.
