SoS for the Environment Michael Heseltine has pledged a further £750m for urban renewal projects to 20 inner city areas under the second phase of the City Challenge scheme. 57 urban priority areas (UPAs) are invited to compete for a share of the grant including the 11 winners in the 1991 pilot competition. Lists the 57 UPSs. Nottingham CC has been given approval for its City Challenge plan.
