The Landlord and Tenant ( Appropriate Multiplier ) Order 1990 amended the rules for calculating the compensation payable to tenants leaving business premises. This article explains how to apply for compensation to be calculated on a special basis i.e. by reference to rateable values on 31 March 1990 or if there is a domestic element in the business premises.
