The Financial Services Act 1986 , which will be brought into operation by ministerial orders during 1987, provides for the statutory regulation of the whole of the investment industry. This article looks in detail at the provisions of the Act concerning investment business and its authorisation, recognition and revocation by the Securities and Investment Board , and the Board`s powers of intervention in the conduct of investment business.
