Examines the different ways of conducting a planning appeal under Town and Country Planning Act 1990 s78 (formerly Town and Country Planning Act 1971 s36 ). It can be done either through written representations , if both parties are agreeable or by inquiry , either through a hearing or full scale inquiry. 85% of appeals are now conducted by the former method.
