Based on a talk given to a conference on town centre management earlier this year, in which the author looks at the advantages of a good management scheme which can bring better co-ordination of existing services and the improvement of many facilities. Describes how the public and private sectors can work together in achieving good management of town centres for consumers through promotion and the introduction of beneficial projects for all.
