In Chios Investment Property Co Ltd v Lopez CA 28 October 1987 it was held that where the facts showed that an occupants relationship with a deceased protected or statutory tenant had reached a sufficient state of permanence and stability for it to be said that in all the circumstances he was a member of the original tenants family the occupant was entitled to succeed to the statutory tenancy.
