Derelict land to be given new life

Derelict land to be given new life - 1992 - Times 23 October 1992, 9(1) .

In the launching of its Housing and Urban Development Bill, the Government has stressed the role which the Urban Regeneration Agency would play in bringing 150,000 acres of derelict land back into use. The Bill also contains a package of measures aimed at strengthening the rights of council tenants and gives freeholders the right to buy the freehold at the market price.
