QBD 23 February 1990 Application by council (C) for an order under Town and Country Planning Act 1971 s245 to quash inspector`s decision to grant planning permission for the conversion of a barn to a dwelling, which C had refused on the gounds that the change would be contrary to the structure plan . QBD held, dismissing the application, that the inspector was entitled to conclude that the barn fell within the scope of current national policies. He had regard to local policies, but was entitled to prefer and apply national policies.
