According to research carried out by Bristol University , radon gas may be a cause of childhood leukaemia . The Institution of Environmental Health Officers claim that research into levels of radon is being hindered because of the secrecy surrounding the gas. Despite these findings the DOE has refused to alter its timetable for publishing guidelines on protecting homes from the gas.
