In "South Oxfordshire DC v SoS Environment and others" QBD 22 April 1994, although a planning inspector found that the character of a site comprising listed buildings could be altered by the scale of development, he decided that the harm was outweighed by the advantages of the scheme and an appeal by the planning authority was dismissed.
