The article presents the findings of a Debenham Tewson & Chinnocks research project into retail management trends , particularly into the expression of shop location choices. The high street remains the retailer`s preference, but often space requirements can be answered only by shopping centres which dominate the shop construction sector. Important factors in the decision of location, subject to availability, are the range of fellow tenants, cost, and convenience of car parking. The conclusion points to future directions.
