Welcoming the general thrust of the EC draft Directive on the Liability of Suppliers of Services , this critique assesses its strengths and weaknesses. The increased liability on suppliers of services, as against those of goods, is treated with hostility, as is the 20-year limitation period for construcation contracts, both of which greatly exceed current provision under English law. These details apart, the objectives of the draft Directive, harmonisation and consumer protection , are applauded.
