New legislation for woodlands

The DOE has announced new regulations to maintain the effectiveness of tree preservation orders on woodlands after the CA decision in Bell v Canterbury City Council (See July Abstracts) and the payment of compensation for refusal to allow tree felling . The Town and Country (Tree Preservation Order) (Amendment) Regulations 1988 which came into force on 30 June 1988.
