The Nature Conservancy Council is seeking permission from the SoS Environment for the compulsory purchase of 33 acres of a Somerset farm under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 . The farmer had repeatedly refused to sign an agreement which would protect the land from intensive farming.
