The Construction Industry Employers Council and the Construction Industry Council representing builders, materials producers, civil engineers, architects, surveyors and planners have sent an open letter to the Chancellor of the Exchequer urging him to take urgent measures to help their industry in his Autumn Statement. These include temporary tax incentives to help first time buyers allowing local authorities to release capital receipts for social housing programmes and the abolition of stamp duty.
