CA 20 February 1991. The vendor`s appeal against the validity of a letter exercising an option to purchase was dismissed. The phrase `subject to contract` in the heading of the letter was held to be meaningless and that the letter had been sent to the vendor`s solicitor and not to the vendor himself was reasonable given the implied authority the solicitor had in conducting the vendor`s business.
