Halifax urges easing of tax rules

Halifax urges easing of tax rules - 1992 - Independent 25 April 1992, 20(1) .

Exemption from capital gains tax on residential property, both landlord- and occupier-owned, is called for by the Halifax Building Society, which seeks to free rental income from tax, and grant landlords basic tax relief on the first £30,000 of any loan per property.
