In Gloucester CC v Williams and others , CA 3 May 1990, it was held that the owner of land on which a franchise market is held is entitled, when granting a licence to occupy a market stall , to impose terms on the stallholder as to what goods should be sold from the stall. Such limitations on trading could not constitute an unreasonable restraint of trade .
