A new model form of collateral warranty has been prepared by the British Property Federation in an attempt to creat a standard from the multiplicity currently in existence, with the intention of reducing the level of litigation and encouraging more evenly balanced conditions for all parties involved: clients, contractors, consultants, developers and insurers. The article examines the background to warranties and applauds the advent of a standard form.
