In Mount Carmel Investments Ltd v Smee and Another CA 28 June 1988 it was held that where a squatter was in possession of a property, the mere sending of a letter by the owner demanding possession did not have the effect of depriving the squatter of possession and transferring it to the owner for the purposes of limitation .
