Britain`s ports and airports are experiencing considerable change in the wake of the Gulf War and prior to the opening of the Channel Tunnel. Privatisation and new trade patterns are reviving ports such as Hull and Southampton, whereas investment in airports is offsetting the recessionary effects of the Gulf War on air traffic. Airports surveyed here include Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester and Birmingham.
