The boom in wind farm planning applications to the DoE under the Non Fossil Fuel Obligation has provoked a mixed reaction from both planners and environmental campaigners. Planners are without official guidance, though as central Wales is most affected location for development, the Welsh Office is hastily preparing some. Conversely, public opposition has been limited, but pressure groups such as the CPRW are voising concern, if not objections, over the environmental costs.
