Harrison, R.

Devon Earth Building Initiative - 1992 - Conservation Bulletin (16) February 1992, 10-11(2) .

Describes various types of construction using mass mud, a process by which a sticky mixture of subsoil, straw and water is built up in horizontal lifts and allowed to harden into thick solid mass walling. Focuses in particular on Devon, where new buildings have been erected in this material and apprentice cob-masons have been trained.
