Increasingly councils are issuing Repairs Notices under Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 to force owners to repair property. South Northamptonshire Council is unusual in, having followed up such a notice with a Compulsory Purchase Order, repairing the property and selling it rather than handing it over to a third party for rehabilitation.
