"Norwich and Peterborough Building Society v Steed" CA 5 March 1992. The appellant`s property had been fraudulently conveyed to new owners, who had borrowed on the property. The building society`s charge was entered in the charges register and it was held that the court had no power under Land Registration Act 1925 s82(1) to rectify this against the building society when the appellant`s case of non est factum, in the matter of the transfer, had failed.
