Mintel claim in a report The Day Out Business that shopping is an important leisure activity and is partially responsible for the buoyancy of spending in the shops . The Henley Centre for Forecasting have traced the emergence of a marketing sector called the "feminal consumer", these are males who are increasingly behaving like women when shopping.
