Discusses the rent review provisions in commercial leases where the rent is adjusted in line with changes in the RPI. Looks at the pitfalls of this method compared with institutional rent review provisions which provide for rent increase to be in line with open market rental values. Pays particular attention to `Blue Dolphin leases` which are drafted so that the rents on review escalate beyond the usual RPI multiplier.
