Describes structural design and related construction matters of the first four phases of the Broadgate development situated adjacent to Liverpool Street Station in London. Aspects of the design discussed include the bored pile foundations, reinforced concrete basement, consideration of heave, composite construction frame, atrium steelwork, the central square and details of the icerink construction.
