British public expenditure on construction less that claimed? - 1987 - Construction Management & Economics 5(1) Spring 1987, 13-20(8) .

However, determining how much the expenditure should be increased poses problems, as there are two incomparable sets of data on public construction investment:- 1) expenditure data from public sector clients who commission construction work, and 2) output data supplied by the contractors who carry out the work. This article takes a critical look at the findings of the data, and attempts to identify the causes of the differences between the two sets of data.
