Housebuilders may face bill for wrong connections to sewers - 1992 - New Builder (128) 7 May 1992, 7(1) .

Northumbrian Water has conducted a survey into the domestic pollution of surface water drains through incorrect plumbing of household appliances. Results indicate that 7-10% of houses built since 1960 are discharging waste directly into the water supply. Responsibility for remedial costs is now being disputed by housebuilding representatives.
