Launching a consultation paper on the future of private house renewal policies, the Housing Minister announced preliminary findings from the 1991 English House Condition Survey. They reveal a decline in the number of unfit properties in England between 1986 and 1991. The consultation paper looks at whether present policies offer the best structure for investing the resources that can be made available to support repairs to private housing.
