"R v Newcastle upon Tyne CC ex parte Dixon" HL 20 October 1993. Held that an authority providing care services according to the National Assistance Act 1948, could enter contractual arrangements with operators of registered homes without restriction from that Act or the Registered Homes Act 1984.
