"Jeantwill Ltd v SoS for the Environment and another" QBD 26 October 1992. The SoS`s decision to refuse planning permission for the development of a hotel in the countryside was upheld. He was found to have properly considered the development control policy notice (which maintained that some out-of-town sites were suitable for hotel development) and was entitled to make his own decision that the proposed development was an intrusion into the countryside and in opposition to the emerging structure policy.
