In "Brent LBC v O`Bryan and others", ChD 6 July 1992, it was held that a letter from a local authority education officer agreeing to the monthly letting of non-residential premises on terms to be laid down by valuers could not be construed as an agreement to grant to the occupier a monthly tenancy.
