A compulsory purchase order was placed on redevelopment land by Tyne & Wear Development Corporation under the Acquisition of Land Act 1981, and was challenged unsuccessfully by the appellant (L) on the grounds that insufficient reasons were given for rejection of L`s alternative scheme and its effects on the original proposal.
