In R v SOS for Environment and another , ex parte Lewin and another QBD 17 July 1991, it was held that where, following a public inquiry, an order had been made fixing the route of a proposed new trunk road objectors could not use a subsequent inquiry into proposed side roads to reopen the original trunk road route issue.
