A rise in interest rates would probably tip the construction industry into another phase of recession warns the RICS in a letter to the Chancellor of the Exchequer to coincide with publication of the RICS Construction Employment Forecast which shows that construction employment levels will be stable in 1995 but are likely to see a sharp downturn in 1996 with the loss of 15,000 jobs.
