Mainly for Students article. Describes a range of designated areas which have restrictions on development. These include Access Areas under the Countryside Act 1968, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Conservation Areas introduced by the Civic Amenities Act 1967 designated in accordance with s69 of the Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas Act 1990, Country Parks and Picnic Sites, Environmentally Sensitive Areas, Green Belts, Heritage Coasts, National Parks, National Trust, Nature Reserves, Scheduled Ancient Mouments, Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) and Tree Preservation Orders.
