A DoE consultation paper invites comments on mechanisms to pass responsibility for setting fees for planning applications to local authorities. Before this can happen authorities must satisfy the DoE that certain criteria, such as speed of decision and an up-to-date development plan, are fulfilled. Includes consultation paper and RICS response.
