Housing Corporation may not buy repossessions

Housing Corporation may not buy repossessions - 1992 - Independent 16 November 1992, 22 Guardian 14 November 1992, 6 Times 19 November 1992, 9(2) .

The £750m allocated to housing associations for buying up empty houses may not be spent on repossessed properties on the market, since it is thought the building societies will not act fast enough to meet the scheme`s deadline and many properties are in disrepair. Instead unsold new properties from developers will be favoured.
