Reports on the case Marson (Inspector of Taxes) v Morton ChD 31 July 1986 in which a potato merchant and his three brothers who had purchased a piece of land for 65,000 pounds and resold it three months later for 100,000, appealed successfully against an income tax assessment on the basis that they had been dealing in land.
