In W Emmett and Son v SoS for the Environment and Another QBD 19 January 1988 it was held that an inspector was correct in refusing planning permission for a change of use of farmland to allow the stationing of mobile homes for employees, on the grounds that there was an insufficiently strong case of agricultural need to justify development in the green belt .
