In Murray v Lloyd and Others ChD 22 June 1989 it was held that the amount of damages due to an occupier who had lost the opportunity to become a statutory tenant through his solicitor `s negligence , should be assessed by reference to what it would cost to acquire similar rights of occupation on similar terms in similar alternative accommodation.
